SIM Compatibility Policy
Read this before you order: it's the #1 reason customers lose money on data purchases.
✓ Use these SIMs
- Regular consumer SIMs: the everyday MTN, Telecel, or AirtelTigo prepaid/postpaid SIM you use for calls and browsing.
- SIMs registered in a real customer's name, active and not owing airtime (MTN especially blocks bundle delivery on SIMs with an outstanding airtime debt).
- The exact number you intend to receive data on: double-check it before paying.
✕ Never order data onto these
- Turbonet SIMs: routed for fixed/router internet plans, not bundle top-ups.
- Broadband SIMs: same issue as Turbonet; a different product class on the network's side.
- Agent/Merchant SIMs: reserved for mobile money agent float, not personal data bundles.
- Invalid or deactivated SIMs: the number won't be able to receive anything.
- Ported numbers: a number ported between networks often doesn't route bundle allocations correctly.
- Wrong numbers: a typo sends someone else's phone free data and yours nothing.
Why it matters: bundles are delivered directly through each network's backend by SIM type. If the SIM falls into any category above, the network itself rejects or silently drops the allocation; DataStream has no way to redirect or reverse it after payment.
No Refund Policy: Orders placed on any of the SIM types above, on a wrong number, or while owing airtime are not eligible for a refund. Please verify your number and SIM type before paying: it's the only way to guarantee your money buys real data.
